An interesting interview with Nick Pope, who worked at the Ministry of Defence for two decades.

This interview is about 1/3 of the way through the podcast.

Nick's involvement with UK sightings of UFOs, cattle mutilations and the paranormal makes for some interesting listening -- particularly as the MoD recently declassified a significant amount of previously confidential Government documents on the subject of UFOs.

UFO delayed flights at the Oslo airport last Thursday

According to Norwegian press, the Oslo Airport in Gardermoen, Norway grounded flights last Thursday after an unknown glider was seen hovering around the airport. Here's an account from Norwegian news (with a pounding guitar soundtrack dubbed in to boot).

Van Halen rocker Sammy Hagar says his mind was abducted by aliens

Here's an article from today's Age that proves alien abductions don't just happen to American farmers. They will even go for musicians...

No doubt Sammy Hagar, a former lead singer for Van Halen, has enjoyed a lot of far out experiences in life, but on Monday, the rocker told perhaps his farthest out tale to MTV. He was abducted by aliens.

Or, at least, his brain was.

In an interview for his new book, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock at mtvhive.com, Hagar lets go of what even he admits might make him "sound like a crazy person" to some readers.

He and the reporter are talking about dreams he claims to have had about UFOs, and when asked whether he believed he had been abducted, Hagar answers: "I think I have."

The reporter seemed surprised. "What? Really? I was kidding. You seriously believe that?" he asks.

Hagar laughs and goes on to explain that a passage in the book described as a dream in which he is contacted by aliens from outer space in California was, in fact, reality.

The tale describes how the beings tapped into his mind through a wireless connection.

"It was real," Hagar told the reporter. "They were plugged into me. It was a download situation ... Or, they uploaded something from my brain, like an experiment."

This new case raises many questions. Namely:

What type of wireless modem do the aliens use and are they getting faster connection speeds than us?

How big was the file they downloaded from Sammy's brain? Music files can be quite large...

Has this happened to any Australian musicians? e.g. Could this be the real reason Michael Hutchence left INXS?

From a 1968 issue of Flying Saucer Review is this HOW TO on building your own Electronic UFO Detector. It's actually an electronic magnetic field alarm, so even if you're skeptical about UFOs, this device could probably also be used to detect ghosts.

Proof of Life from Outer Space

That astonishingly awesome claim comes from Dr. Richard B. Hoover, an astrobiologist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, who says he has found conclusive evidence of alien life — fossils of bacteria found in an extremely rare class of meteorite called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites. (There are only nine such meteorites on planet Earth.) Hoover’s findings were published late Friday night in the Journal of Cosmology, a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

Instead of using phosphorous, the newly discovered microorganism called GFAJ-1, uses poisonous arsenic for it's building blocks.

While the Journal of Cosmology says that “no other paper in the history of science has undergone such a thorough vetting,” some highly respected names in the scientific community are challenging the validity of Cosmology, and the findings of Dr. Hoover.

CLASSIFIED UFO FILES RELEASED TODAY

In the UK The Ministry of Defense just released a mountain of UFO files detailing UFO investigations, eyewitness testimony and military concerns about possible extraterrestrial visitors. These documents show absolutely beyond a doubt that over many, many years, Ministry of Defense officials, government ministers and defense intelligence staff have treated the UFO issue seriously.


The Ministry of Defense's position was: We don't know what these things are, we don't believe they're of any defense significance. But it remained open-minded about the possibilities of extraterrestrial life


Having looked through some of the files it is interesting that a lot of the reports were not taken seriously and some comments filed were.... interesting to say the least.


Have a look at this one I found. 

While some may consider the files to be a big deal, I have read a few comments around suggesting that the Ministry of Defence have only released those files that they consider to be fakes and/or hoaxes.


Still, that doesn't discount the material found within them. This one below is getting a lot of press. (Extract from the washington Post) 


Two sightings by government officials, one by crew of a Royal Air Force plane and one by a Royal Air Force officer in Sri Lanka, were not investigated because they took place outside of British airspace. The Sri Lanka incident was caught on camera. The Ministry of Defense also decided that none of the reported sightings posed any risk to the integrity of UK airspace.
